ABOUT US
Hello All.....I'm Dan VanHook. I started out my musical
career about 35 years ago; during this time I've played
drums in many area bands and, in the past few years, have
been playing at casinos and ballrooms and with many national
and international artists.
In the early 80's I got bit by the electronic bug and now
that my family has grown up and moved away, I am pursuing
my second musical passion - providing clean, accurate production
at live events.
I am the president of Spectrum Pro-Audio and the production
coordinator. All event designs and staffing are supervised
directly by me to assure that the customer receives exactly
what they need. I know my work is central to the success
of an event.

Hi from Spam Town USA....I'm Pete Jacobsen, but my friends
call me Mr. Softee. I started playing music in the late
1700's and as of yet haven't had the mental fortitude to
give it up. I spent many years on the road where I became
an accomplished bassist and vocalist and have had the profound
pleasure to work with some of the greats of our business.
In the past few years I have been working in casinos and
ballrooms where I had the misfortune of working with Dan
VanHook. We had a common interest in sound reinformcement
and Spectrum Pro-Audio was born.
With my years of experience I know what the audience expects.
A first rate show! Although the audience may never meet
me personally, I know I have no margin for error. If the
curtain doesn't go up or the lights don't go on, they'll
know I'm responsible.

Hi-De-Ho Neighbor....I'm Mark Townsend. For the past 12
years I owned and operated Mugzee's Night Club in beautiful
Rochester, Minnesota where we featured live National Blues
artists. This is where I developed my (ear) desire to help
live events for the people of the Midwest.
As stage manager and sound and lighting technician for
Spectrum Pro-Audio I know there is no such thing as a typical
job. It is my job to meet with the event personnel to discuss
what kind of production equipment will be needed and insure
that we are set up and ready to go for sound checks and
the real show.

What's Happenin'....I'm Jordan VanHook the F.O.H. technician
Recently having attended the Institute of Production and
Recording in Minneapolis, Minnesota gives me a strong foundation
on the newest technology and techiques of this ever changing
and amazing business.
Being the youngest of the team gives me the additional
job of keeping us current with trends and techniques (including
gettin' down the current handshakes).

Dick Stephenson is more commonly known as Big Dick. Not
only is Dick our most dependable and constant stagehand
and Dan's right-hand for lighting design, he is also our
in-house photographer. Dick's work can be seen in our photo
gallery (coming soon).
Dick's extensive contruction background has given him unstoppable
work ethics and common sense. Experience is on his side,
he knows about timelines and working long hours until the
job is completed.

Ray Pickens has many years experience as a professional
roadie, stage manager, production coordinator, and musician.
His contagiously positive attitude and "get it done"
spirit is what keeps Ray a favorite with all the venue managers
we work with. Watching Ray at work will convince anyone
that there are no new surprises to him in this business.

Mike Nassif is a well-known radio voice. Sixteen years
as Rochester's top radio personality and owner of Entertainment
to Go DJ service has qualifed Mike to handle our NEW video-disc-jockey
(VJ) service. Mike also works closely with Dan on our equipment
rental and event planning services.

Roxie Swygman is our newest member of the team. She comes
well prepared to get the job done and learn all aspects
of the business.
